Group Scout Leader

My name is Simon and I have been with 1st Datchet since I was a cub in 1996. I have been the Group Scout Leader since 2012 and am probably one of the youngest GSLís in the district.

My role as GSL is to support all the sections within our group to ensure that every member is enjoying Scouting as much as I have.

In my spare time I enjoy football and am a season ticket holder for Chelsea. I also enjoy kayaking and in 2011 I became a Level 1 coach. I belong to an amateur dramatics group and regularly am involved in plays.

As well as the leaders below the running of the group is supported by the group executive.

Sea Scout Leader

My name is Laurence and I have been with 1st Datchet since I started as a Beaver in 1989. I have been the Scout Leader since 2007, having been an Assistant Scout Leader and Assistant Explorer Scout Leader with 1st Datchet Sea Scouts and Montagu Explorer Scout Unit.

My role as SL is to run the Sea Scout Troop, making sure that all have the chance to enjoy scouting as I did (and still do) for many years.

By day Iím an IT Technician and in my spare time Iím a train enthusiast & PC Gamer, amongst other things. I also enjoy kayaking and in 2011 I became a Level 1 coach, alone with a number of other leaders within (and a few outsiders) the group.

I am assisted by a number of other assistant scout leaders.

Cub Scout Leader

My name is Gary and I have been the Akela at 1st Datchet since 2010 but I have been an Assistant Cub Scout Leader with the group since 2005. I have been involved in the Scout movement since 1996.

I like spending my spare time playing volleyball in my work team and enjoy indoor climbing and hiking. I also have an interest in anything to do with Geography, especially maps.

I am lucky enough to be assisted by a number of other assistant cub leaders.

Beaver Leader

My name is Fox and I have been at 1st Datchet for many years. My role as Beaver Leader is to run the Beaver section of the group, making sure all our youngest members enjoy Scouting.

I like spending my spare time running and am a member of my local church.

I am lucky enough to be assisted by a number of other assistant Beaver leaders.
