New Squirrel Scout Drey Coming to 1st Datchet Sea Scout Group
1st Datchet Sea Scout Group is excited to announce plans to launch a brand-new Squirrel Scout Drey, bringing the adventure of Scouting to children aged 4–6 in Datchet and the surrounding area.
Squirrels is the youngest section of the Scout movement, giving children the chance to learn, play, explore and make new friends through fun, exciting activities. Whether it’s arts and crafts, games, outdoor adventures or learning new skills, Squirrels helps young people build confidence while having fun.
To introduce families to the new section, we’re holding an Open Evening where children and their parents or carers can come along, meet the team and experience some of the activities that Squirrels has to offer.
Open Evening Details

🕠 Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
📍 Venue: 1st Datchet Sea Scout Group, Ditton Park, Slough, SL3 7JF
The event is open to all girls and boys aged 4–6 from Datchet and the surrounding area.
Launching a new Drey is an exciting step for our Group, helping us welcome even more young people into the Scout family and giving children the opportunity to begin their Scouting journey at an earlier age.
We’re also keen to hear from adults who may be interested in volunteering. Whether you can spare an hour a week helping with activities or would like to support the group behind the scenes, volunteering with Squirrels is a rewarding way to make a difference in your local community. No previous Scouting experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to help young people thrive.
