Scouts (10.5-14)

The Sea Scout Section is made up of Boys and Girls aged between ten and fourteen years old. The Troop holds weekly meetings at our Scout Hut during the Autumn/Winter, every Friday evening from 19.30 to 21.30. In the Summer the meetings are held away from the Scout Hut at a location where we run water activates.

We have our own fleet of Kayaks, Canoes, Rowing Boats, rafts and power boats which our members use to develop and refine a broad range of skills and gain qualifications under the supervision of qualified Leaders and Instructors.

As well as the packed Water Activities program we also do all the normal Scouting activities, with the members training in traditional Scouting Skills and gaining a wide variety of awards and badges. These activities include Climbing, Hiking, Archery, Camping, Pioneering , Cooking and much more.

During the year we run two or three camps, the highlight of which is our week long summer camp held at a different camp site in the UK each year. Also about every four years we go abroad for our Summer Camp which is a truly amazing experience for all those involved.

Scouts is great at building young people’s confidence and providing them skills which will benefit them for the rest of their life!
